Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
I know I said this before but I’ll say it again: I’m a gaymer, though and though. Which makes it that much more mortified when I was late in knowing the existence of this fabulous novel. Fun fact, this is actually the first book I got with my Audible account and for a really good reason – or a simple one. Plain and simple, it was the first book I thought over when I activated my account. Still a great choice, nonetheless.
Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
So, my best friend, Tyler, had given me two simple yet demanding demands as a credit to my nerdism and my status as a bookworm. He insisted that I give the Harry Potter series a read as I’m a writer. And, since I’m slowly creating a universe for my space opera series among other things, it started to become clear that reading this series would be a good idea. And, with that (in 2018), I began the mission of reading the Harry Potter books.
As stated in my previous post, I’m part of the 2019 Goodread Challenge (my third year) and have given myself a goal of reading fifty books before the end of the year. Right now, I’m at 33 and, thanks to Audible, I’m predicting that I’m going to finish the challenge before the end of spring. But I’ll just add 25-50 more books to my challenge and read – or listen – on.

City Building video game genre is a guilty pleasure of mine. They’re relaxing, easily accessible and the criminally simple to comprehend. Plus, the replay value is invaluable and infinite compared to any other genre. So far, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King is the only city building game that I dubbed with playing to its entirety because they had enough content and lore to keep me engaged. Now I can add one more to my list: Fallout Shelter.

This is a classic example of how microtransaction is not only unnecessary but, ultimately and sadly, destroys a potentially good game. Knights of Valour could have been a fantastic game if the developers weren’t so fucking greedy. To avoid going on a raging rant (not really my thing), allow me to be brief about what made this game “the best of the worst”.

Ever played a game that always asked yourself “What the hell was the game about?” or “Is there a clear story to this?” Well, that’s what happens EVERY time I played BlazBlue and, more recently, Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-, the most recent installment to the Guilty Gear series. Of course, as you could imagine, I have zero clues on what the story is about but that’s okay (sort of) because it has a lot of things to offer outside of it.

While I was working at Origins Game Fair (an amazing tabletop convention), I could only play cooperative or very VERY short games because I had to make sure that everybody’s safe and enjoying themselves. So, when I got a chance, I stand down and play some of the games that were on the Capcom Classics Collection. As you would imagine, it’s a game that has a wide collection of popular games that Capcom created. I beat a few of them but only four of them was for the first time.
