Just one more week and I’ll be in another city. Another few cities, actually. I will have my assignments written and downloaded onto my tablet. I’m also making it a rule I’ll make for myself the most obvious—no working on holiday. Well…of course, threaded discussion. Okay. Okay. An hour a day for my final course project but – other than that – NO REAL WORK!! Now, what will I be doing in Zealand?
Fab Life
So, right now, I have to edit all my short stories from my 2020 Short Story Project for my 2025 short story collection. I have to say…it has been a humbling experience to know that my stories were decent but needed much improvement. I have to thank experience and higher education for that. I’ve always been told that 20% of creative writing is taught while the other 80% is improved through experience. So? Why am I saying the obvious? Well…I’m back in school.
I have a month and a half left of school and then my students will be able to enjoy the fine relaxation of the summer holiday. Sure, I’m contractually obligated to do the summer camps, but I’m looking at the prize at the end of it all: New Zealand. That’s right. I’m planning my trip to the Land of the Long White Cloud. Or would “Middle Earth” sound better. Either way, I am beyond excited to go as it has been on my list of places to travel to.
Sorry for the month-long absence, but I wanted Philadelphia to have my undivided attention – out of my studies, of course. While I finished most of my work beforehand, the only thing I had to do was my threaded discussion which took me no time at all. I had missed my city for such a long time and I wanted to see what changed and what remained the same. Short answer, a lot.
For thirteen days, I was in the “Comital City” and fell in love with everything about it. The people. The food. The history. Everything about Barcelona was what I was missing in China and what I wished America could be. I still do, actually. However, I will not focus on that. Instead, I will gush over what I did in the lively city. But where do I start? Oh! I know! I’ll start with my living arrangement.
The Chinese government is a fickled thing. They have laws against discrimination against the LGBTQ community, and, yet, they have laws banning games and media that have feminine men in them. Yeah…talk about hypocritical. They don’t even allow any PRIDE Parade anymore because it was “going against the harmony of China”. Nevertheless, I’m still swelling with PRIDE. Let me tell you why.
So, for Pride Month, I decided to spend every Friday creating a Top 10 List of anything LGBTQ+ that I can think of at that moment. Just something to change the pace and make everyone smile. (For the previous list, click here, here, and here). This week, I would like to tell you guys where I plan on going for Pride in the following years. I won’t be going alone and plan on going to them all, eventually. Just so you know…I don’t have it in a particular order because that’s too hard. ha ha!

Now, please, don’t forget to follow me on my social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, and Goodreads) which are on the right side of my web page. Also, I do love hearing suggestions of what books to read outside of my norm (Science fiction and fantasy) as I am a part of the Goodreads’ reading challenge for 2020. My goal is to read 100 books this year and I’m already at 77. Probably end up reading 120 before the year is out.
I am a very lucky man. Well, more blessed than lucky, really. I got to have a small sitdown with Paul Charles aka The Gay Comic Geek. We are both very busy men so I was honoured to have him take a few moments out of his schedule to talk to me about his pride experience and such. I focused specifically on pride questions because I’ve been following his career path for a bit so I’m already aware of his childhood and such from interview. Now, without further ado…

(For the previous list, click here and here) This week, I would like to tell you guys the ten favorite icons for the LGBTQ+ community. Just so you know…I don’t have it in a particular order because that’s too hard. ha ha!
To carry on with Pride Month, I would like to shine a spotlight on LGBTQ+ owned business.
This time around, I want to focus on this new wrestling company that I found out about through Paul Charles, aka the Gay Comic Geek. The models/wrestlers are all phenomenal in both their craft and outside endeavors. The co-owner of the business is Ethan Axel Andrews and he’s as sexy as he is talented. Seriously, he’s really hot. As of recently, he’s decided to step down so he can continue being an independent freelance wrestler which I 100% respect. You have to go with your passion.
The Underground Championship Wrestling, or UCW, is a new wrestling company that “features plenty of body strikes and punching, classic gut work-overs, and also plenty of good old-fashioned dirty tactics like ball grabs, hair pulls stuff like that (that makes it more fun for us!). It’s “anything goes” in our “ring”, we do whatever it takes to win by submission, pin, or knockout.” (This is literally from the site.)
Well, new for me, anyway. It has actually been around for about eleven years so I’m really late to the party. Better late than never, though, right?
Plus, you have to see what they wear. Usually, it’s speedos and singlets which is hot. But, every now and again, they will don jockstraps and body oil for special matches. The best part is that all their matches can be bought and downloaded at a very cheap price
I got to view some of the content via screenshot and I was instantly impressed with what I saw. Unfortunately, I can’t buy any of it because I’m still working out the kinks of transfer water over international waters. The only thing I could do was subscribe to their newsletter. I also managed to do the next best thing: I started following the sexiest models on Instagram. One of them, Gabe Steel, will be utilizing his good looks for some of the book covers.
But don’t take my word for it, see for yourself.
