First things first, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and a safe Black Friday. I won’t be participating in either holiday because I desperately want some alone time from the world. That, and I don’t like shopping on Black Friday; I prefer Cyber Monday since I don’t have to do a lot of physical store hopping. However, I won’t be participating in that, either. So, move on…
Now, let me just say right off the bat, Marvel’s The Punisher and The Runaway are so good that I’m probably going to watch it again – just for giggles. Jon Bernthal did another fantastic job of portraying the iconic anti-hero and I have to give props to Paul Schulze and Ben Barnes for their performance because they made me believe in my hatred towards them as villains. Plus, I have to say it, it’s about damn time that the Punisher got a proper adaptation. Funny enough, I was actually binge-watching the series while finishing up Earthbound.
The Runaway, on the other hand, is something I didn’t expect. In all honesty, I didn’t know that something like that even existed at this point. Although, in all fairest, comic books aren’t really my area of expertise. Nevertheless, the show was a delight to saw and it was always a pleasure to see James Marsters on the small screens. Haven’t seen him since he played the hilarious immortal professor Bennet Sutton on the hit 2009 Sy-Fy series: Warehouse 13. Love that character as much as I love Spike.
Even better, I manage to beat Earthbound (SNES, 1994) and Link’s Awakening (GB, 1998) within the course of a week as part of an ongoing Gamer’s Challenge. I wanted to complete both games and TV shows before the weekend arrive because I save those days for my story writing. I actually thought I would have been done with my short stories by now, but life had a different plan, so I had to adjust. Hopefully, I can get this done before the end of January 2018 so I can send them, along with my first installment, to an editor. That way I can work on other literary projects while my short stories are being edited.
Not a lot to talk about this week. Been mostly quiet as I’m working on this artist project for my best mate’s company that we’re trying to debut for 2018. Although we’re running into some hiccups, we’re very optimistic about its completion and flourishing potential.
